ACMG Mountain Guide | Based in Canmore, AB I’m a certified ACMG Mountain Guide and proud to call Canmore, Alberta home — though my roots are in Japan, and my guiding journey has taken me across continents. Ironically, guiding wasn’t just a passion at first — it was the only way I could stay in Canada. But that challenge opened up a life of purpose in the mountains. I specialize in ski mountaineering, glacier travel, and alpine climbing, and I’ve guided guests through some of the most rugged and remote terrain in the Canadian Rockies, Bugaboos, Adamants, and beyond. My future ambitions include climbing Mt. Logan, guiding in the European Alps, exploring high peaks in Nepal, and — of course — returning home to Japan for that legendary Japow. As the first ACMG Mountain Guide from an Asian country, I’m passionate about building bridges between the Canadian and Japanese guiding communities. I also focus on creating inclusive experiences, introducing BIPOC — especially Asian — individuals to the transformative power of mountain travel.
