Hiking in from BC on Aug. 3rd the mountain top was covered in snow. Past Assiniboine Lake we met 3 experienced Columbia Valley locals who had bailed on the normal route that day due to snow.
On the 4th we found great conditions with no snow whatsoever.
The Hind Hut was fully occupied but we were only the third party this season who had an entry in the hut book as summitting.
The season seems to be in full swing up there.
Of interest, with two ropes it is possible to rappel to just above the red band if one wishes
