Good Conditions on Mt Huber!

Mt Huber via Huber Ledges

Climbing Conditions

I climbed Mt Huber via the Huber ledges today with Andrew J and Matt M, we found great conditions overall!

The ledges were snow free and there was lots of water flowing at the usual watering spot between the upper and lower bivy site. The lower pocket glacier was mostly snow covered with one patch of bare ice to be crossed. We used crampons for this!!

The snow surface ranged from fully supportive to mid-calf deep in places depending on aspect and overall snowpack depth but on average we were getting good steps in.

At the toe of the upper glacier there is abit of bare ice showing but coverage improves with elevation and it should hang in there for a while.

The bergschrund is starting to open but is well filled in on the climber's left side. We travelled on snow to the summit just left of the exposed ice.

We didn't climb Mt Victoria but included a picture of the ascent gully from the Huber side.
